Getting started (franchise owner)

Accept your invite, see this week's priorities and update HQ.

On this page

For franchise owners, including multi-unit owners. A few priorities, each with a reason, and quick ways to show progress.

What you’ll need

  • An iPhone or any modern web browser. Android is Planned if brands ask for it.
  • The email invitation from your franchisor’s headquarters.

You don’t need a corporate account, and a personal email address works.

Accept your invite

  1. Open the invitation email and tap the link to SignaUnit.
  2. Choose Continue with Google and pick the Google account for the invited address. A personal Gmail address works.
  3. Confirm the units you own. Multi-unit owners see all of their units in one place.

SignaUnit keeps you signed in. You won’t be asked for a password, because there isn’t one.

Signing in at the portal. Sign-in isn’t open yet. When it opens at app.signaunit.com, Google sign-in is the only method in v0.1. Email sign-in links, passkeys and Face ID unlock are Planned.

Your home: “This week from HQ”

The first screen shows your priorities from headquarters, ranked by HQ:

  • At most three priorities on the Today view, so the important ones don’t get lost.
  • Each priority shows a status (for example acknowledged, on track or at risk), the due window, and HQ’s one-line why it matters to your unit.
  • Each one has a single obvious next step.

Open a priority to see the full detail: the target, what counts as met, the business decisions HQ is asking you to confirm, and any notes or comments.

Acknowledge a priority

Tap Acknowledge. That’s it. Your acknowledgement tells HQ your business has seen the priority. HQ sees acknowledgement at the level of your business or unit.

If HQ later makes a material change, such as a new target or a new due date, SignaUnit asks you to acknowledge the new version. Minor wording fixes don’t trigger a new acknowledgement.

Log progress

Updating a priority takes two taps or one sentence:

  • By touch: open the priority, enter a value or confirm a step, and save.
  • By voice (iPhone): tap the mic and say something like “Log a 92 percent review-response rate for the north unit.” SignaUnit shows what it understood and saves only after you confirm. See iOS app and voice.

If your brand imports KPIs from its own data, many numbers will already be filled in and you won’t need to log them by hand.

Notes and comments

You can add a note to a unit or a priority, such as “seasonal promotion launched Tuesday”. Notes are private to your business by default. You choose whether to share a note with HQ.

Comments are the coaching conversation with your field consultant or HQ about a priority’s outcome.

Have your say on drafts

HQ can open a draft priority to owners before it goes out. When it does, you’ll be able to:

  • Comment on the draft,
  • Vote it up or down, and
  • Opt in to a test group that tries it first.

It’s a structured way to influence what gets rolled out, before it’s final.

Working offline

The iPhone app works without signal. Acknowledgements, check-ins and notes are saved on the phone with a quiet “will sync” mark and sent when you’re back online. Nothing is lost. See Offline sync.

Who else can see this?

You decide. If you want a general manager to see your priorities, you can grant them access, and you can remove it at any time. HQ talks to you, the owner, about outcomes. It doesn’t assign work to your staff, and reminders never go to them. See Roles and permissions.

Prefer a computer?

Everything above works in a web browser too, apart from voice. Audits can be viewed and verified on the web, while running an audit is done on iPhone.
