About SignaUnit

Is SignaUnit available now?

Not yet. SignaUnit is in private development, and we’re building it with a few franchise brands. Work starts on sample data and moves to real data only under a signed agreement. You can tell us what you’re rolling out.

Who makes SignaUnit?

SignaUnit is an Acutis Ignatius product.

Is this digital signage?

No. SignaUnit has nothing to do with in-store displays. The name comes from the Latin signa, the standards a unit rallied behind: a few clear standards from headquarters, carried by every unit, with what works at one unit shared with the rest.

Does it replace our franchise management suite or CRM?

No. SignaUnit sits on top of the tools your brand already requires. Your suite keeps the tasks, library and records. SignaUnit holds the few priorities that matter this quarter, the follow-through at every unit, and the proof that they moved.

Can we customize SignaUnit for our brand?

Yes, through configuration rather than custom code. Every brand shares the same core (priorities, follow-through and the rollup), and each HQ adds its own custom fields, checklists and audit templates, and sends events to its own systems through signed webhooks. HQ-defined objective types, a scoped API, plugins and connectors for tools like FranConnect, POS and CRMs are Planned. See Customization & extensibility.

How is this different from an announcement with read receipts?

An acknowledgement is only the first step. Each priority also carries a target and conditions, owner steps, follow-through check-ins on day 7, 30 and 60, follow-up lists for field consultants, and adoption shown next to KPI change. See Follow-through check-ins.

For headquarters

Why does every priority need a category?

Every objective has to say whether it’s about lead response, conversion, profitability, a launch or a brand standard. It’s a built-in check that each priority helps owners find leads, convert them or run profitably. If a priority can’t pass that test, it probably shouldn’t go out.

Can franchisees push back on a priority?

Yes. HQ can open a draft for comments, votes and test-group opt-in from owners and the franchisee advisory council before publishing. See Publishing and fan-out.

Where do the numbers come from?

In v0.1, from owner check-ins and HQ’s CSV imports, previewed before anything is saved. Connectors to QuickBooks and one field-service / operations tool are planned next. See KPI import.

Do you support single sign-on for headquarters?

In v0.1, everyone signs in with Continue with Google, which suits HQ teams on Google Workspace. SAML/OIDC single sign-on and SCIM are Planned for the release after v0.1. Email sign-in links and passkeys are also Planned. Sign-in isn’t open yet.

Can we have more than one brand?

Grouping several brands under one parent tenant is Planned. In v0.1 each tenant is a single brand.

Is our data safe from other brands?

Yes. That’s the design’s top priority. Each brand’s data is isolated by the database itself, using Postgres row-level security, not only by application code. Every change is tested against cross-tenant reads and writes before it can merge. See Security and data isolation.

For franchise owners

What do owners need?

An iPhone or a web browser, an email invite, and a Google account for that email address (a personal Gmail address works). Owners sign in with Continue with Google, and no corporate account is required. Passkeys and Face ID unlock are Planned. Android isn’t in v0.1.

Do owners have to use voice?

No. Every voice action has a touch equivalent with the same number of steps or fewer, and voice can be turned off.

What happens to what owners say into the app?

Speech is turned into text on the iPhone itself, and no audio is stored or uploaded. Text is sent to the server only when the app needs help understanding a request, and it’s deleted after 30 days unless your brand sets a different retention period. Nothing is saved until you confirm it. See iOS app and voice.

Does it work without signal?

Yes. On iPhone you can see priorities, acknowledge, log progress, add notes and run audits offline. Everything syncs when you’re back online. See Offline sync.

Can HQ see my notes?

Not unless you share them. Notes are private to your business by default.

Franchise relationship

Does SignaUnit direct our franchisees’ employees?

No. SignaUnit sets outcomes and coaches the owner. It doesn’t assign work to franchisee staff, and reminders never go to them. Owners decide who in their business sees their priorities. See Roles and permissions.

No. SignaUnit is designed around standardizing outcomes rather than directing staff, but your franchise counsel should review your own priorities, audit templates and agreements.

AI

Where does AI come in?

Narrowly. In v0.1, AI only helps interpret a spoken request into one of five actions (brief, log, note, acknowledge, status), and you confirm before anything is saved. Later, it will draft reminders that a person approves and answer questions from your approved content with sources. Both are Planned.

Is our content used to train AI models?

No. AI providers must offer zero-retention, no-training terms, and your operations content is never used to train a public model.
